Type Chinese hotel names, addresses and travel phrases online
A useful thing to prepare before a China trip is a plain-text note containing your hotel's official Chinese name and address, station name and a few short questions. You can prepare it in Chinput and copy it to your notes.

Use travel phrase buttons
Choose Places & maps for buttons such as 请问洗手间在哪里？ (“Where is the restroom?”) and 请问几号出口？ (“Which exit number?”). Choose Hotel & train for 可以寄存行李吗？ (“Can I leave my luggage here?”). Each button inserts the Chinese into the editor; review it and copy it.
For a destination, use the official Chinese name from your booking whenever possible. 北京站, 北京南站 and 北京西站 are different stations. If you can see a character but do not know its pronunciation, draw it one at a time, then compare the result with the booking. Save the finished note and an offline screenshot before leaving. This types text; it does not verify a destination or translate an English address.
Three ways to enter the text
- Pinyin: type one word or short phrase, check the candidates, then press Space for the first choice or its displayed number for another. If a phrase is wrong, split it into smaller parts. Full Pinyin is easier to check when starting out.
- Handwriting: open Draw and draw one character with a mouse, trackpad or touch screen, lifting between strokes. Select the correct local matching result. Undo removes the last stroke; Clear starts again. This is handwriting matching, not photo scanning.
- Quick phrases: choose the relevant scene below the editor. Its vocabulary gets priority and its phrase buttons insert ready-made text. Edit the result, click Copy, then paste where you need it.
Core Pinyin and handwriting need no account or input-method installation. Optional AI translation is currently disabled. Mainland China access has not been verified; save essential text beforehand.
